MEET THE QUILTER
Laura Stephens
I learned to sew in elementary school using our family's old Singer Featherweight sewing machine. I mostly dabbled, creating small projects until I started my first high school job at a large fabric store. A coworker taught me how to quilt when business was slow on Monday nights- and my passion for quilting began! Since that time, I have created more quilts than I can remember, but have loved the process of each one.
After previously renting a longarm machine at a local quilt shop years ago, I was finally in the place to be able to purchase my own machine in 2021. In spring 2022, I successfully completed the rigorous APQS Longarm Certification course which pushed me to greatly build my skill set.
I free motion quilt with an APQS Millennium "Millie" machine. All work is hand-guided, allowing me to give full attention to each and every block. I am thrilled to be able to share my talents in helping you finish your treasured quilts. Let's get started!
